KNCC is a joint venture company owned by the Knutsen Group and the NYK Group. Using our long history of seafaring, offshore and gas freight experience, KNCC helps sequester captured carbon into disused oil wells, removing CO2 from the atmosphere.
Our two companies are established, experienced players to our industry. The green shift is a key endeavour for us both, and the establishment of KNCC is a significant part of our contribution to mitigate climate change.
Using our decades of experience, purpose-built fleets, and the shipping proprietary LCO2-EP technology, we transport liquified CO2 (LCO2) at safe, ambient temperature to available pockets in offshore reservoirs, where we pump the gas back down into the wells. There, it is sequestered away from the atmosphere, and excluded from the carbon cycle.
